Our nearest lakeside dining is Pelican Pete's, 15 minutes away south on Jot 'Em Down Road, left on Brown's Bridge Rd to Port Royale Marina. The restaurant is floating on the lake surrounded by luxurious boats and jet skis, lots to see! You feel like you're on vacation somewhere, a good spot to enterain guests or sip a beer. Check the live music calendar on their website. Seating is open air, under roof, bring a jacket when weather is cool but the restaurant is closed in winter months so check ahead. The food here is 4.3 Google rating and the menu features choices like Fish Tacos, Hot Chicken Sandwich, Port Royale Burger, Lobster Roll. When you arrive at Port Royale there is a guard gate, just tell the guard you are going to Pelican Pete's and they'll let you drive in. Go right to the far end of the parking lot where there's a LONG gangplank walk out onto the marina docks and restaurant. When on our boat we sometimes pull into a courtesy dock here to eat, but our favorite lakeside dining is on the east lake shore: Fish Tales in Safe Harbor Marina in Flowery Branch, or its sister Pig Tales in Aqualand Marina, 30 minute trips by car.
